<\/p>\nthe College of Media hosted an educational seminar titled ‘Drugs and their Societal Consequences.’ The seminar was organized by the University of Baghdad in collaboration with the Office of the Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Al-Husseini Al-Shirazi (may his shade endure). The event was held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Munir Hameed Al-Saadi, the university president, and supervised by Professor Dr. Amar Taher, the dean of the College of Media.<\/p>\n
Prominent figures and interested individuals attended the seminar, including the representative of the university president, Dr. Wadood Tareq, the dean of the Khawarizmi College of Engineering, Dr. Mohammed Taqi Al-Dhakiri, the representative of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi, Riyadh Al-Khzaai from the Council of Iraqi Tribal Sheikhs, Dr. Muhanad, a legal representative in the Ministry of Interior, and Mr. Haider Al-Hajjar from the Office of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi (may his shade endure).<\/p>\n
The seminar discussed the impact of drug abuse on individuals and communities, shedding light on the negative consequences resulting from this dangerous phenomenon. Discussions revolved around the urgent need for awareness, education, and preventive measures to reduce the prevalence of this issue, emphasizing the crucial role of official and societal institutions in this context.<\/p>\n
A comprehensive research paper was presented by a faculty member from the Public Relations Department, representing the College of Media. The paper addressed various aspects related to the influence of social media in spreading awareness about the dangers of drugs and their effects on societies. The researcher highlighted effective methods and strategies that universities and educational institutions can adopt to enhance awareness and better guide youth regarding the risks of drugs. The role of media and social media in disseminating accurate knowledge and information on this sensitive issue was also discussed.<\/p>\n
The paper included a thorough analysis of the challenges and opportunities facing efforts to combat drug abuse, with a focus on the importance of awareness and encouraging public discussions on this vital topic. Representing the College of Media, the faculty member provided a deep and detailed analysis of the problem, influencing the discussions during the conference by endorsing perspectives that encourage positive thinking and innovative solutions to tackle this social challenge.<\/p>\n
This seminar represents a significant step towards raising awareness about the harms of drugs, fostering constructive dialogue, and exchanging experiences to strengthen joint efforts in combating this harmful phenomenon in society.”<\/p>\n
