The College of Media at the University of Baghdad has achieved the first place in the results of the Iraqi Ranking of Governmental and Private Universities (IRU), according to a report issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.<\/p>\n
All three departments of the college (Journalism, Radio and Television, and Public Relations) secured the top position among both governmental and private universities participating in the ranking within the corresponding specialties, with a significant difference in points and higher scores compared to the evaluation of the previous year.<\/p>\n
The Journalism department ranked first with a score of (65.12), followed by Public Relations in second place (64.29), while the Radio and Television department achieved (64.27), according to the new ranking.<\/p>\n
Professor Ammar Taher, the Dean of the college, expressed his “pride and satisfaction with this academic achievement,” offering his congratulations to “the University of Baghdad in general, the winning scientific departments in particular, as well as the faculty, staff, and students.”<\/p>\n
Dr. Taher stated that “the prominence of the University of Baghdad and its scientific departments in the Iraqi university ranking stems from the continuous efforts of the faculty, students, and staff,” emphasizing that “the university is moving forward according to a well-thought-out scientific and operational plan to enhance its academic reputation in various local, regional, and international rankings and classifications.”<\/p>\n
Regarding the advancement of the College of Media departments in comparison to corresponding specialties in the Iraqi ranking results, Dr. Taher stated, “The progress of our departments in comparison to corresponding specialties in the ranking results reflects sincere and continuous efforts from the faculty and administrative units,” praising “the meticulously planned operational plan implemented by specialized committees to ensure quality at the college.”<\/p>\n
He added: “We are proud of the excellence of our departments and their continued achievement of the first place, which reinforces our position as a leading college in the field of media,” pledging to “continue the march and hard work to preserve this honorable academic legacy and achieve more successes in the future.”<\/p>\n
Experts from the Quality Assurance Department at the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Supervision and Evaluation Department in the Ministry conducted a comprehensive evaluation of (1875) scientific departments in (95) governmental and private universities and colleges according to program accreditation standards 40%, faculty members 25%, students 20%, and global classifications of academic specialties 15%.<\/p>\n
The Iraqi university ranking reflects the commitment of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to its policy of enhancing responsiveness to quality requirements, developing the educational environment, and measuring institutional performance indicators.<\/p>\n
In the 2022\/2023 ranking, the College of Media achieved the first place, with the Public Relations department taking the lead with a score of (57.53), followed by the Journalism department in second place with a score of (52.87), while the Radio and Television department scored (50.07).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
