The Arabic Language Integrity Unit at the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, organised a scientific workshop titled \u201cThe Impact of Local Dialects on Bypassing Artificial Intelligence Algorithms\u201d, with the participation of a number of lecturers and students interested in digital media and language studies.<\/p>\n

The workshop, delivered by Assistant Professor Dr Saffad Hossam Hammoudi, addressed the relationship between local dialects and artificial intelligence systems, and how linguistic diversity can influence algorithmic outputs, particularly in text analysis and content monitoring.<\/p>\n

It also highlighted the challenges AI systems face in understanding non-standard dialects, and the extent to which these gaps may be exploited to bypass certain digital screening or filtering tools, while emphasising the importance of promoting responsible use of modern technologies.<\/p>\n

The session was chaired by the Head of the Arabic Language Integrity Unit, Assistant Professor Dr Nibras Hussein Mahawish, who stressed in her remarks the need to preserve the integrity of the Arabic language while keeping pace with technological developments in ways that enhance media and research performance.<\/p>\n

The workshop is part of a series of scientific activities organised by the unit aimed at raising linguistic and technical awareness among students, and strengthening their skills in using artificial intelligence tools in the media field, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, by developing digital learning skills and improving students\u2019 competence in dealing with modern technologies.<\/p>\n
