The Human Rights Unit at the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, organized an awareness workshop titled \u201cHuman Rights in Daily Life: From Texts to Practice,\u201d delivered by Assistant Lecturer Duaa Hammoudi Faraj, with the attendance of college students.
\nThe workshop aimed to raise students\u2019 awareness of fundamental rights and to instill the principles of human dignity, justice, and equality in their daily behavior both inside and outside the university campus.
\nIt included a simplified presentation of the most prominent international and national human rights texts and charters, highlighting practical ways to apply these rights in everyday life, as well as the role of students in promoting a culture of mutual respect, rejecting discrimination and violence, and enhancing social responsibility.
\nThe workshop witnessed active participation from students through discussions and interventions, reflecting their interest in embedding humanitarian values and applying them within the university environment and the broader community.
\nThe session concluded with several recommendations, including: raising awareness of human rights culture through student activities and events, adhering to behaviors that respect human dignity on campus, encouraging dialogue and tolerance, rejecting all forms of hate speech and discrimination, supporting student initiatives that serve the community and promote humanitarian values, and utilizing digital platforms responsibly to raise rights awareness.
