The College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, has secured four distinguished awards at the National University Journalism Festival hosted by the University of Imam Ja\u2019far Al-Sadiq (PBUH), with wide participation from university newspapers representing media colleges and departments across Iraq.<\/p>\n

The festival was attended by Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ammar Taher Mohammed, along with the Editor-in-Chief of \u201cAl-Sahafa\u201d newspaper, Mr. Mohammed Al-Mamouri, and a number of winning students.<\/p>\n

The \u201cAl-Sahafa\u201d newspaper achieved second place as the best university newspaper, while the \u201cConfronting Extremism\u201d newspaper won first place for Best Graduation Project, supervised by Dr. Shukriya Al-Sarraj, for its media treatment of a contemporary intellectual issue.<\/p>\n

In addition, student Noor Moaath from the Digital Journalism Department won third place for Best News Report, while student Wi\u2019am Maher from the same department received third place for Best Published Investigative Report.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the achievement, Dean Professor Dr. Ammar Taher stated that \u201cthis success reflects the level of development the college is witnessing in both academic and practical aspects,\u201d noting that the college continues to implement its plans to prepare students with high professional skills capable of competing in the media job market.<\/p>\n

He added that these results are the outcome of accumulated efforts over recent years, including local and international partnerships and the development of infrastructure such as smart laboratories and modern technical halls, in addition to adopting practical training as a core element in student preparation.<\/p>\n

The Dean further explained that the college has developed a comprehensive program to enhance students\u2019 skills, aiming to build a distinguished media generation equipped with professional tools and capable of keeping pace with rapid transformations in the media sector.<\/p>\n

This achievement reflects the growing academic and practical performance of the college\u2019s students and their ability to secure a strong presence in scientific and media forums.<\/p>\n
