Master\u2019s students in the Department of Public Relations at the College of Mass Communication organized a training workshop titled \u201cDigital Awareness in the Face of Deepfakes and Artificial Intelligence,\u201d as part of efforts to enhance media skills and keep pace with rapid technological developments.<\/p>\n

The workshop featured lectures by Assistant Professor Dr. Safad Hossam Hammoudi from the College of Mass Communication, Mr. Haider Najm Al-Alaqy, official spokesperson of the Communications and Media Commission, and Ms. Amira Ali Khalil, a fact-checker with the \u201cTech for Peace\u201d team. The speakers provided expert insights on combating misinformation and strengthening digital verification skills.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by a number of academics and specialists in media and technology. The session was moderated by journalist Haneen Ghanem Hameed, who discussed the key challenges posed by artificial intelligence, particularly deepfake technologies and their impact on media credibility.<\/p>\n

The workshop also emphasized the importance of building digital awareness among students and media professionals, equipping them with fact-checking tools, and keeping up with the rapid transformations in the digital media environment, contributing to the production of professional and reliable content.<\/p>\n

The event is part of a series of academic and training activities aimed at developing students\u2019 capabilities, preparing them to face the challenges of modern media, and strengthening their role in combating misinformation in the digital space.<\/p>\n
