{"id":3236,"date":"2026-04-26T19:54:12","date_gmt":"2026-04-26T19:54:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.comc.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=3236"},"modified":"2026-04-26T20:00:46","modified_gmt":"2026-04-26T20:00:46","slug":"college-of-mass-communication-launches-anti-misinformation-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.comc.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=3236","title":{"rendered":"College of Mass Communication Launches Anti-Misinformation Campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The College of Mass Communication launched an awareness campaign under the slogan \u201cYour Health\u2026 A Responsibility\u201d titled \u201cDo Not Believe Everything Published on Social Media,\u201d aiming to raise public awareness about the dangers of misinformation amid the growing influence of digital platforms.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The campaign encourages the public to verify information circulated on social media platforms, whether related to health, economics, society, politics, security, science, or history, and not to rely on unverified content without checking credible sources. Special attention was given to misleading health information that may pose direct risks to individuals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The campaign warned against pages promoting dietary supplements, herbal products, cosmetics, cosmetic procedures, and weight-loss products, stressing that many of these commercial pages prioritize profit over consumer safety. It also emphasized the importance of avoiding rumors and refraining from interacting with or promoting misleading pages.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The initiative further highlighted the need to protect personal data and avoid sharing private information with unofficial or anonymous pages, particularly those claiming to provide job opportunities, due to the potential risks of fraud and exploitation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Campaign activities included distributing awareness brochures and leaflets, publishing educational materials, organizing a seminar, and launching a Facebook page dedicated to sharing guidance content.
