The Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Unit at the College of Mass Communication organized a scientific seminar titled \u201cThe Role of Universities in Supporting Volunteer Initiatives,\u201d with the participation of a group of academics.<\/p>\n

The seminar aimed to introduce the concept of volunteer work, its importance, and its role in strengthening social cohesion, while highlighting the role of universities in promoting humanitarian values and supporting volunteer initiatives.<\/p>\n

Assistant Professor Dr. Ria Qahtan, Assistant Professor Dr. Rana Al-Shujairi, Dr. Yusra Hamza, and Assistant Lecturer Taysir Khalid participated in the seminar, presenting research contributions focused on the importance of student initiatives in addressing community issues and developing leadership skills among graduates.<\/p>\n

The seminar also featured extensive discussions on mechanisms for activating volunteer teams within university campuses and ways to provide academic support to promote a culture of volunteer initiatives that contributes to building a more aware generation.<\/p>\n

The outcomes of the seminar align with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 on quality education through enhancing global citizenship skills, and Goal 17 on partnerships for the goals by strengthening cooperation between academic institutions and community sectors to help build more resilient and sustainable societies.<\/p>\n
