The Department of Radio and Television at the College of Mass Communication held its 18th annual festival under the theme \u201cAudio-Visual Media and Social Issues,\u201d with the participation of prominent academic and media figures, alongside a wide range of students who presented diverse media productions reflecting advanced professional skills and awareness.<\/p>\n

The festival featured screenings of award-winning works, including documentaries, reports, investigative pieces, short films, docudramas, radio productions, and short fiction films. The works received strong audience engagement for addressing social issues through modern artistic approaches and mature media vision.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by Board of Trustees member at the Iraqi Media Network, Dr. Awsam Majid, along with the Dean of the College of Heritage University, Dr. Ali Najm, and several academic and media personalities.<\/p>\n

In his speech, Dean Professor Dr. Ammar Taher stated that the showcased works represent the outcome of students\u2019 continuous efforts under academic supervision, noting that the college is committed to preparing a new generation of media professionals capable of producing high-quality content that reflects societal realities.<\/p>\n

He added that the future of media in Iraq depends on the creativity of young talents, emphasizing the need to support and develop their academic and professional capabilities in the fields of audiovisual media.<\/p>\n

For his part, Head of the Department of Radio and Television, Professor Dr. Ali Abbas, described the festival as a genuine platform for presenting student productions and showcasing their creative potential, stressing that these works are the result of joint efforts between students and their supervisors.<\/p>\n

He reaffirmed the department\u2019s commitment to providing an educational and practical environment that develops students\u2019 skills and prepares them for the media labor market.<\/p>\n

The festival is part of a series of activities organized by the College of Mass Communication aimed at linking academic study with practical application and preparing a media generation capable of keeping pace with rapid developments in the field while serving societal issues responsibly and professionally.<\/p>\n
