The Ibn Sina Unit for E-Learning at the College of Mass Communication organized an awareness workshop titled \u201cIrregular Migration: Its Risks and Prevention Methods Among Iraqi Youth,\u201d attended by a number of lecturers, students, and individuals interested in social and youth issues.<\/p>\n

The workshop was delivered by Professor Dr. Shukriya Kawkaz Al-Sarraj and Dr. Bidaa Saadoun, who discussed the main reasons driving some young people toward illegal migration, along with its humanitarian, security, social, psychological, and economic consequences for individuals and their families.<\/p>\n

The sessions also highlighted the importance of community awareness in reducing this phenomenon, promoting a culture of future planning through education, professional development, and the creation of positive opportunities within society, in addition to emphasizing the role of academic and media institutions in spreading awareness among youth.<\/p>\n

The workshop witnessed active engagement from participants through discussions and interventions focused on possible solutions to address the issue and ways to build a supportive environment that enhances social stability and reduces the risks of irregular migration.<\/p>\n

This initiative aligns with the College of Mass Communication\u2019s efforts to promote social awareness and address youth-related issues, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), which emphasizes providing decent employment opportunities and supporting youth development to reduce irregular migration.<\/p>\n
