The College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad participated in the fifth meeting of the Industrial Advisory Council, chaired by University President Prof. Alaa Abdul Hassan Al-Zughaybi, with the participation of leading academic figures and representatives of state institutions and the private sector. The college was represented by its Dean, Prof. Ammar Taher Mohammed, as a member of the council.<\/p>\n

The meeting discussed several strategic issues related to the future of education and the labor market, particularly artificial intelligence, digital industrial transformation, patents, joint research projects, training and capacity-building programs, as well as future jobs and the skills required in the coming years. The discussions aimed to enhance alignment between educational outcomes and national development needs.<\/p>\n

Participants stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships between universities, state institutions, and the private sector, while developing academic programs in line with the rapid changes in work environments. They also emphasized directing scientific research toward addressing national challenges, supporting innovation, and transforming knowledge into practical applications that contribute to sustainable development.<\/p>\n

The meeting concluded with a set of recommendations, most notably the launch of the University of Baghdad Observatory for Future Skills, a specialized platform dedicated to monitoring labor market transformations and forecasting emerging skills. The initiative aims to support curriculum development and enhance graduates\u2019 readiness for future demands, reflecting the commitment of the University of Baghdad and its colleges, including the College of Mass Communication, to keeping pace with global developments and preparing cadres capable of leading digital transformation and shaping the future.<\/p>\n
