The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, held a scientific workshop titled \u201cSample Selection in Scientific Research: Methodological Foundations and Practical Applications for Researchers,\u201d delivered by Dr. Oyoun Saad Jumaa, with the participation of a number of academics, researchers, and students interested in scientific research.<\/p>\n

The workshop aimed to enhance methodological knowledge related to the selection of research samples and their importance in ensuring the accuracy and credibility of research findings.<\/p>\n

The workshop covered several key themes, most notably the definition of the research population and the sample, the distinction between the two, as well as an overview of different types of samples and the factors influencing their selection according to the nature and objectives of the study and the researcher\u2019s available resources.<\/p>\n

It also addressed a number of statistical equations and methods used to determine the appropriate sample size, while presenting practical applications and illustrative examples to help researchers select samples in a scientifically sound manner.<\/p>\n

The lecturer recommended that researchers adhere to proper methodological procedures in selecting samples and determining their size, in a way that contributes to improving the quality of scientific research and enhancing the reliability and accuracy of its results.<\/p>\n

The outcomes of the workshop align with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 on quality education.<\/p>\n
