The summit, titled \u201cSilencing the Guns, Amplifying the Truth: Protecting Journalists and Strengthening Humanitarian Systems,\u201d focuses on journalist safety, the role of media in covering conflicts, and supporting peaceful solutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The organizers praised the academic standing of the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, and its experience in journalism education, digital media, and professional ethics. They expressed their interest in the College\u2019s contribution to international discussions on the future of journalism and the safety of media professionals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The proposed partnership includes the participation of faculty members as speakers and panelists, contributing to the preparation of the \u201cNairobi Declaration on the Peaceful Resolution of Conflicts,\u201d as well as opportunities for students to participate in multimedia storytelling, present research, and produce joint journalistic reports.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The invitation reflects the College of Mass Communication\u2019s growing international engagement and efforts to expand academic partnerships in journalism, digital media, and scientific research, providing its faculty and students with opportunities to participate in international forums and contribute to discussions on professional issues and the future of journalism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The summit\u2019s themes are aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, particularly its focus on building peaceful societies, supporting the rule of law, and protecting freedoms.
