{"id":5191,"date":"2026-03-11T07:50:46","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T07:50:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.comc.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=5191"},"modified":"2026-03-11T07:55:13","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T07:55:13","slug":"college-of-mass-communication-holds-workshop-on-tv-programs-and-students-university-major-choices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.comc.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=5191","title":{"rendered":"College of Mass Communication Holds Workshop on TV Programs and Students\u2019 University Major Choices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, held a workshop titled \u201cThe Role of Television Programs in Guiding High School Students Toward Choosing the Right University Major,\u201d attended by a number of College faculty members, staff, and students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Muntaha Hadi, who discussed the influential role television programs play in shaping students\u2019 awareness and guiding their academic and career interests, particularly during the period before they enter university. She highlighted the importance of providing purposeful media content that introduces students to different university majors and the requirements of the labor market.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop also addressed the importance of using educational and guidance-oriented television programs to support students in making informed decisions about their academic futures. It also presented examples of media programs that have successfully provided guidance-oriented content to help students identify their interests and abilities and choose majors that match them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop featured active engagement from attendees through contributions and discussions focusing on the role media can play in educational guidance and the need to strengthen cooperation between media and educational institutions to better serve students and guide them toward clearer educational pathways.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop is part of the College of Mass Communication\u2019s efforts to promote educational awareness among students in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, which focuses on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<p><img
