In a speech delivered on the occasion, Professor Ammar Taher Mohammed, Dean of the College of Mass Communication, said that \u201csovereignty represents an established national value and is closely linked to society\u2019s awareness and its ability to safeguard its national decision-making, independence, and vital interests.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added that \u201cIraqi universities play an important role in fostering national awareness among students through education, knowledge, and practices that strengthen their sense of responsibility toward their country.\u201d He noted that \u201cthe College of Mass Communication has a particular responsibility in this regard, given the role of the media in shaping public awareness, conveying facts, and promoting the values of citizenship.\u201d<\/p>\n
The vigil featured the raising of the Iraqi flags in an atmosphere that reflected pride in national identity, with the participation of students, faculty members, and college staff, reaffirming Iraq\u2019s unity, sovereignty, and national standing.<\/p>\n
