\nFruitful meetings were held at the University of Baghdad on Wednesday between the Dean of the Media College, Dr. Ammar Tahir, the delegation of the Cultural Attach\u00e9 at the French Embassy in Baghdad, led by Cultural Counselor Pascal Ross, and the training representative from France M\u00e9dias Monde, Sofia Amara, to discuss the stages of development in the training program for faculty and students.
\nThe aim of the meeting was to explore ways to intensify the training program during the summer break in order to complete the remaining training modules, which include both online and in-person lectures. This is to ensure maximum benefit for trainees in the practical training process for students during the upcoming academic year 2023-2024.
\nA number of faculty members and staff from the Media College and the Iraqi Media Network have participated in a professional program prepared by the French Academy for a full year. The program covers various courses, including digital techniques, detecting fake images, news editing, report writing, social media management, and video content production.
\nDr. Ammar Tahir stated, “The training program and constructive collaboration between the Media College and France M\u00e9dias Monde, under the auspices of the French Embassy in Iraq and with the support and encouragement of the University of Baghdad’s presidency, will soon result in the creation of skilled trainers from the college’s graduates. This will contribute to the production of programs that serve the educational process and enhance professional performance for the students\u201d.
\nHe added, “Baghdad Media is keen to maximize the expertise of its professional staff by seeking the assistance of reputable and experienced academic institutions such as France M\u00e9dias Monde and others\u201d.
\nThe joint training program between the Media College at the University of Baghdad and France M\u00e9dias Monde is part of the Innovative Journalism Project in Iraq (JOII), which aims to develop journalistic skills for Iraqi youth and enhance their capabilities in the field of media. The program includes workshops and training courses covering a variety of skills, such as preparation, security, interviewing, filming, editing, and more, with the goal of providing students with simple and educational tools for successful television reporting.
\nIt is worth mentioning that France M\u00e9dias Monde is a state-owned institution that supervises and coordinates the activities of major public media institutions broadcasting or publishing internationally from France, including Radio France International, Monte Carlo International, and the news television channel France 24. Additionally, it holds approximately 12.5% of the shares in the news and entertainment network TV5 Monde. End\/64<\/p>\n
