The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Media, University of Baghdad, organized a scientific workshop titled “Public Opinion Polls: Concept and Functions,” presented by Dr. Yusra Hamza Ali and attended by the college’s staff and students.
The workshop aimed to shed light on the concept of polling, which is considered a suitable tool for obtaining information, data, and facts related to a particular reality. The survey consists of a set of questions that are answered by a group of relevant individuals.
The workshop also covered the functions of public opinion in the political field, including the revealing function, which determines the nature of political practices through various roles, most notably influencing political decisions, elections, and governance, as well as improving human taste, ethics, and values.
The workshop was well-received by the attending students, who benefited from the valuable information and insights provided. They expressed their desire for more scientific and practical workshops and events.
