The Department of Journalism at the College of Media, University of Baghdad, organized a scientific seminar entitled “The Role of Language Correctors in Improving Linguistic Performance among Individuals.” The seminar was delivered by Dr. Zainab Jumaa, and was attended by a number of academics and researchers interested in this field.
The seminar aims to shed light on the role of language correctors and their importance in reducing linguistic errors in the Arabic language in its various forms, such as grammatical, spelling, and semantic errors. It seeks to improve the performance of Arabic language speakers and increase their awareness of the importance of using language correctly and effectively.
Dr. Zainab Jumaa discussed the concept of language correctors and their essential tasks in correcting linguistic errors and guiding individuals towards proper and appropriate language use. She also addressed the impact of linguistic errors on communication and linguistic understanding among individuals, and how language correctors can actively contribute to enhancing language skills and elevating linguistic performance at the individual level.
The participants emphasized that “language correctors play a vital role in improving the quality of texts, journalistic articles, and scientific research, and enhance professionalism in the media field”, They affirmed that “citing language correctly and avoiding linguistic errors contribute to building a strong and professional media institution”.
The seminar concluded that “raising awareness about the importance of language correctors and enhancing their role is a fundamental step in promoting linguistic culture and improving linguistic performance in society”, It called for “providing continuous support and training for language correctors and enhancing their role in the academic and media environment”.
It is worth mentioning that this scientific seminar organized by the Department of Journalism at the College of Media, University of Baghdad, reflects the growing interest in the role of language correctors in promoting effective linguistic communication and proper expression in society.
