Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Shakiriyah Al-Sarraj, who is a faculty member in the Journalism department, delivered a lecture to postgraduate students titled “The Impact of the Arrangement of Women’s Issues on Iraqi Electronic Newspaper Websites on the Knowledge Level of Iraqi University Professors/A Field Study of a Sample of University Professors at the University of Baghdad.”
The study yielded significant results, with women’s issues, including social, political, and security matters, ranking as the top three priorities on Iraqi electronic newspaper websites. These results highlight the prominent importance of women’s issues in digital media.
Regarding the impact of this arrangement on academic awareness, the study showed shared interests among Iraqi university professors regarding women’s issues. The study also emphasized the influence of the media policies of electronic newspapers on the arrangement of these issues and women’s subjects.
This research sheds light on the significance of the role of media outlets in conveying and highlighting women’s issues and how it can affect the understanding and awareness of academics in Iraq regarding these matters.
This lecture is part of a series of lectures announced by the College of Media at the University of Baghdad, focusing on published research by some of the college’s professors and aiming to enhance scientific awareness and deepen knowledge among postgraduate students.
This scientific event is part of the University of Baghdad’s initiative to promote the exchange of ideas and scientific output among college departments and scientific branches. A weekly hour has been designated for the presentation of published research and to encourage the attendance of postgraduate students (preparatory and research).
This initiative reflects the college’s commitment to promoting scientific research and transferring knowledge to the new generations, reinforcing the college’s role as a leading center for education and research in the field of media.
