The Department of Journalism is one of the oldest departments in the College of Information, as it was the first nucleus for the establishment of the College, as it was established in 1964, then it was transformed into the Department of Information and returned again after the establishment of the College in 2002 and includes well-known professors at the level of the profession in Iraq.
Seeking to prepare professionally and scientifically qualified graduates who are able to work in the field of journalism after receiving scientific materials throughout their academic studies, along with training them on the skills of dealing with the techniques used in the field of media work, in a way that enables them to keep abreast of modern scientific and technical developments in the field of journalism.
