Al-Mada Lab

is one of the modern specialized laboratories at the College of Media, University of Baghdad. Designed with a contemporary layout under the direct sponsorship of the Deanship, it bears the name of the prestigious “Al-Mada” Media Foundation. Equipped with state-of-the-art computers and smartboards, and managed by a specialized technical team, the lab aims to qualify and train students in the latest digital learning methods, computer skills, and information technology. It also focuses on the practical application of specialized subjects—particularly electronic journalism techniques, newspaper design and layout, and modern software—to prepare journalistic cadres equipped with the digital and professional readiness required to work in media institutions.

“Print Design Lab” serves as the creative environment and practical space for combining journalistic art with aesthetic and functional vision in page layout and print production. The lab aims to keep pace with the technological revolution in press design systems and digital integration by training students on the automated assembly of text, images, and visual elements in an engaging and distinctive style. Through modern technologies and industry-standard software systems, the lab seeks to equip press designers and layout artists with an integrated set of expertise and creative skills, preparing them to produce visual journalistic content that meets the highest technical and professional standards.
