A master’s thesis of the student (Russell Ahmed Mazal) was discussed from the Department of Radio and Television at the College of Media, University of Baghdad, tagged (The Role of Iraqi Radio Stations in Arranging the Audience’s Priorities Regarding Social Phenomena). The study aimed to “know the role of Iraqi radio stations in arranging the audience’s priorities regarding social phenomena, motives of exposure, habits and patterns of exposure of listeners, and the public’s interest in the issues presented by Iraqi radio stations, as well as identify the radio stations that the audience prefers to listen to.” The study concluded that “most of the respondents do not have a specific time to listen to social programs on Iraqi radio stations, while some prefer to listen to social radio programs via the Internet.” The results also showed that “the respondents wanted the radio stations to present programs with a variety of topics and for dialogue programs and direct discussions to be prevalent.”
