The College of Media at the University of Baghdad witnessed the activities of the Jewelers Festival in its fourth edition, the session of the late Iraqi poet Akram Al-Amir, in celebration of the Iraqi Writer’s Day.
The theater of the College of Media hosted the activities of the second day, which opened with an exhibition by the artist Muhammad Hitler, in addition to a theatrical performance entitled “Manu” for the General Union of Iraqi Writers. The play carried multiple messages, the most important of which is poetry, a pure Iraqi identity, and Al-Jawahiry, the greatest Arab poet, in addition to conveying the image of the cultural reality in Iraq. The activities were also accompanied by poetry readings by a group of poets, which received great interaction and admiration from the attendees.
The events concluded with a special tribute by the Secretary-General of the Union of Writers in Iraq, the poet Omar Al-Saray and the critic president Ali Al-Fawaz, to the Dean of the College of Media , Prof. Dr. Ammar Taher, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ali Jabbar Al-Shammari, in addition to the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Talib Abd. Al-Hamid, and the Director of Student Activities, Dr. Rawia Al-Shaer, thanked them for their fruitful cooperation and great efforts to serve literature and creativity in Iraq.
