The Radio and Television Department at the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, organized a scientific workshop titled “Towards a Sustainable Campus… From Within the University,” as part of the Sustainable University Week activities, held at Martyr Mohammed Baqir Al-Sadr Hall.
The workshop featured applied projects presented by students, including video reports and media and scientific content addressing sustainable development issues. The presentations highlighted environmental challenges within the university campus and explored ways to address them using modern media approaches.
The workshop aimed to enhance environmental awareness and promote sustainability concepts among students by employing media tools to tackle environmental issues and spread a culture of sustainability within the university community.
The event was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Rusul Mohammed Abbas, who emphasized the importance of integrating practical and theoretical aspects to develop students’ skills and prepare them to produce purposeful media content that serves societal issues.
The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College and the Head of the Radio and Television Department. The Dean praised the quality of the presented work, commending the students’ efforts and reaffirming the College’s support for such scientific activities that promote sustainable development concepts and empower youth within the campus.
This workshop is part of a series of activities through which the department seeks to encourage students to produce innovative media ideas that contribute to spreading sustainability awareness and strengthening environmental responsibility within society.
