The Dean of the College of Mass Communication, Professor Dr. Ammar Taher Mohammed, confirmed that the college continues its preparations to host the 7th International and 19th Annual Conference titled “Media and Transformations of Discourse in Light of Contemporary Digital Changes,” with the participation of a select group of academics and researchers from Iraq and abroad.
He stated that the conference comes in response to the rapid transformations taking place in the media landscape within the digital environment, which have introduced new patterns in the production and dissemination of media discourse. He noted that the college aims, through this scientific event, to open new research horizons that contribute to understanding these shifts and analyzing their impact on societies.
He added that the conference will feature rigorous academic research addressing digital media, artificial intelligence, data journalism, and transformations in media content, reinforcing the role of academic institutions in providing scientific insights that support and develop media practice.
The Dean emphasized the college’s commitment to strengthening its position as a leading academic center in media studies and contemporary challenges through organizing scientific conferences that contribute to building a conscious and responsible media discourse aligned with technological developments.
The conference aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) by supporting scientific research and knowledge development, and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by promoting responsible media that contributes to building informed societies capable of addressing challenges.
