Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs at the College of Mass Communication, Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Ahmed Al-Qutbi, stated that the 7th International and 19th Annual Conference, titled “Media and Transformations of Discourse in Light of Contemporary Digital Changes,” represents a key academic milestone for discussing the major shifts occurring in the media field in the digital age.

He explained that the conference aims to attract rigorous scientific research that highlights transformations in the structure of media discourse and the impact of modern digital technologies on its formulation and dissemination, noting that the scientific committees are working to select high-quality studies that contribute to enriching media knowledge and providing academic approaches to current challenges.

Al-Qutbi added that the college has ensured the conference serves as an interactive platform bringing together researchers and experts to exchange experiences, thereby enhancing research quality and advancing media studies. He pointed out that the conference themes include contemporary topics such as digital media, artificial intelligence, discourse analysis, and data journalism.

He noted that this focus reflects the College of Mass Communication’s awareness of the need to keep pace with global developments and prepare media professionals capable of effectively and professionally engaging with the digital environment.

The conference aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), by promoting scientific research and academic development in support of building an advanced knowledge-based society.
