The “Media Scouts” team at the College of Mass Communication won first place in the Youth Empowerment and Development track at the “Challenge and Creativity” national competition, hosted by Nineveh Governorate from April 26 to 30, with wide participation from Iraqi universities.

The achievement came as the team represented the University of Baghdad in the empowerment category, securing first place and contributing to the university’s second-place overall ranking among participating Iraqi universities.

The team included students from different departments: Basil Ahmed from the Department of Journalism, Ali Mutashar Abdul Rashid from the Department of Radio and Television, and Naba Nazar Hassan from the Department of Public Relations, who demonstrated strong teamwork and student creativity.

Team supervisor Dr. Thaer Karam stated that this success reflects the College of Mass Communication’s commitment to supporting student talents and developing their skills, enhancing youth participation in various development fields.

The achievement aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), through strengthening students’ academic and practical competencies.
