The Dean of the College of Mass Communication, Professor Dr. Ammar Taher Mohammed, participated in a meeting held by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, attended by senior officials including Dr. Sadiq Awad, Deputy Director General of the Department of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, Dr. Hazem Abdul Razzaq, Director of the Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up, and a representative of the French Embassy, to discuss mechanisms for developing university education and implementing the Bologna Process in Iraqi academic institutions, including the College of Mass Communication.

The meeting discussed several files related to the implementation of the Bologna Process, particularly the adoption of a four-year study system, aimed at improving the educational environment, aligning academic curricula with modern European standards, enhancing students’ skills, and raising the quality of educational outcomes.

Participants emphasized the importance of academic cooperation with the French side and benefiting from international expertise in updating academic programs in line with labor market requirements and the digital transformations affecting both media and higher education sectors.

The meeting also resulted in agreements on a set of organizational and technical steps for implementing the Bologna Process at the College of Mass Communication, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to modernize the education system and expand academic openness and knowledge exchange with international universities.

The initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), which promotes inclusive and equitable quality education for all.
