A master’s thesis at the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, examined public relations strategies used by political and military leadership within the Popular Mobilization Forces and their impact on the public. Conducted by researcher Shahd Thaer Sahib Al-Athari from the Public Relations Department.

The study, supervised by an academic committee including Professor Dr. Jafar Shahid (chair), Assistant Professor Dr. Karim Mashat (supervisor), Dr. Aqeel Tahseen, and Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Jabri (external member), aimed to identify PR approaches using a descriptive survey method based on questionnaires, scales, and interviews.

Findings showed moderate public engagement with information provided by PMF leadership and notable audience follow-up of related activities. The study recommended enhancing PR strategies, investing in communication activities, and strengthening ties between media, public relations, and the public through opinion polls and professional expertise.
