The Dean of the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Ammar Taher Mohammed, received the Scientific and University Cooperation Attache at the Embassy of the French Republic in Iraq, Ms. Yulien Laiouette, in a meeting dedicated to enhancing academic and scientific cooperation and expanding partnership areas in media education development.

Both sides discussed the next phase of the “Renewed Path” project, one of the key media education development initiatives in partnership with France Médias Monde and the French Embassy. The project aims to modernize curricula and adopt practical teaching methods, including mobile journalism and digital content production, in line with global media transformations.

The Dean emphasized the College’s commitment to building effective international partnerships to improve education quality and prepare media professionals with advanced digital and practical skills, noting that cooperation with the French side represents a successful model for academic development.

For her part, the French Attaché expressed the Embassy’s support for ongoing academic and training programs and highlighted continued cooperation with France Médias Monde to transfer French expertise to the Iraqi academic environment and expand scientific exchange opportunities.

The meeting reflects the College’s strategy to strengthen international engagement and consolidate its position as a leading academic institution in media education development in Iraq and the region.
