The Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, organized a training workshop titled “Time Management and Prioritization,” presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Aws Mahmoud Mohammed, a faculty member at the University of Baghdad’s Continuing Education Center. The workshop was attended by a number of College students and graduates as part of development programs aimed at enhancing professional readiness and developing personal skills relevant to the labor market.
The workshop addressed time management as an essential skill for building academic and professional careers, with a focus on methods for setting priorities, effective task planning, and techniques for reducing time waste. It also covered ways to balance academic, professional, and personal commitments. The lecturer presented practical models and tools to help students and graduates improve productivity and performance, in line with the demands of modern workplaces, which require organizational efficiency and the ability to make timely decisions.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the organizers emphasized the importance of incorporating time-management skills into university career development programs due to their direct impact on improving employment opportunities and strengthening graduates’ competitiveness. They noted that such activities align with Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by supporting skills development that enables young people to actively participate in the labor market and contribute to sustainable productivity.
