The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, organized a specialized training lecture on “Mobile Journalism” for staff working in media, communication, and government communication units across the University’s institutions. The lecture was part of the College’s efforts to develop media skills and keep pace with recent digital transformations.
The lecture was presented by journalist and trainer Mohammed Al-Alwan, who reviewed the key professional and technical fundamentals of mobile journalism, from professional smartphone photography to editing techniques and rapid publishing across digital platforms, contributing to the production of timely and impactful media content.
The lecture included practical guidance on different shot types and techniques for building news stories using mobile phones. It also highlighted the importance of reporting events quickly while maintaining accuracy and credibility, which are among the defining characteristics of contemporary digital media.
The session featured active participation from attendees, who raised questions about ways to use mobile technologies in government media work and the challenges they face in the workplace. The lecturer provided detailed responses and practical explanations.
The lecture is part of a series of activities organized by the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad to enhance the capabilities of media professionals and develop their skills in line with the demands of the digital age, while improving the quality of media performance within government institutions.
