Prof. Dr. Ammar Tahir Mohammed, Dean of the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad, oversaw the final stages of the renovation of the College Radio station as part of efforts to develop students’ training facilities and strengthen practical education in radio broadcasting.
The renovation is part of the College’s efforts to modernize its laboratories and educational facilities in line with professional developments in media and radio broadcasting. The Dean reviewed the ongoing technical and technological work inside the studios and broadcasting rooms, directing that the remaining work be completed in accordance with the highest technical standards to provide students with an integrated training environment that reflects real-world radio production.
College Radio is an important training platform for students in the Department of Radio and Television, providing them with opportunities to produce and present radio programs, news bulletins, and various audio materials in a practical setting that helps develop their professional skills.
The station also broadcasts its programs and news bulletins on 105.7 FM, offering diverse media content focused on university activities as well as cultural and community issues, while providing students with extensive opportunities to participate in program production and presentation.
The Dean emphasized that renovating the station represents an important step in supporting applied education at the College. He noted that the College seeks to provide a modern training environment that enables students to gain practical experience in program production, presentation, audio engineering, and radio broadcasting management, helping prepare a new generation of media professionals capable of meeting the demands of contemporary media work.
College Radio is expected to resume broadcasting in its new form soon, serving as both a training and media platform that showcases students’ creativity and reflects the academic and cultural activities of the University of Baghdad.
