The College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad has concluded a specialized training course on journalism writing, held as part of the “Masar Mutajaddid” (Renewed Path) Project in cooperation with France Médias Monde. The course was delivered by Wissam Al-Dali, a journalist with France 24, with the participation of faculty members from media colleges at Iraqi public universities. The course aimed to develop journalism skills and enhance professional expertise in line with the latest developments in the media industry.

The course focused on developing journalism writing skills and techniques for crafting media content, as well as introducing participants to modern professional approaches to structuring journalistic texts and presenting information accurately and engagingly. These skills are intended to strengthen participants’ ability to produce journalistic content suited to the nature of contemporary media platforms.

Professor Dr. Ammar Taher Mohammed, Dean of the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad, emphasized that the “Masar Mutajaddid” Project represents an important step in strengthening cooperation and knowledge exchange between the College and international media organizations. He praised the training content delivered by Wissam Al-Dali, highlighting his professional expertise and media experience, which contributed to enriching the course.

The Dean expressed his appreciation to Wissam Al-Dali for his efforts and contribution to training the College’s faculty members. He also presented him with the College of Mass Communication Shield in recognition of his contributions and role in the success of the course. The Dean reaffirmed the College’s commitment to continuing training programs that contribute to advancing the academic and professional skills of its faculty and staff.

The course is part of a series of training activities carried out under the “Masar Mutajaddid” Project in cooperation between the College of Mass Communication and France Médias Monde. The project seeks to strengthen media expertise, facilitate the exchange of professional and academic experiences, and create broader opportunities for cooperation between the two sides.

These efforts align with the College of Mass Communication’s commitment to supporting quality education and developing professional skills, strengthening the role of academic institutions in preparing media professionals capable of keeping pace with rapid developments in the modern media environment. They are also consistent with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education and Sustainable Development Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
