The College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad hosted a festival celebrating the winners of student activities departments and divisions at Iraqi public and private universities. The event was held under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Salah Hadi Al-Fatlawi, Head of the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority; Professor Dr. Alaa Abdul Hassan Al-Zughaibi, President of the University of Baghdad; and Dr. Hassanein Basim, Head of the Ministry’s Student Activities Department.
The festival honored the winning students and teams across various areas of student activities, recognizing their efforts and achievements in strengthening student engagement and enriching university life. It also supported talents and fostered youth potential in cultural, artistic, athletic, scientific, and other fields.
Participants emphasized the importance of student activities in shaping university students’ personalities and developing their skills, describing them as an essential part of the university environment that combines academic achievement with creativity, skill development, and positive competition. They also praised the role of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Iraqi universities in supporting students and encouraging them to participate and excel.
The selection of the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad to host the festival highlights its role in supporting university events and activities and strengthening communication between educational institutions and their students, contributing to a culture of creativity, excellence, and active participation in university life.
The organization of the festival reflects the commitment of educational institutions to empowering young people and supporting their participation in cultural and creative activities, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education and Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
