Dr. Ali Hatem Al-Hasnawi, a member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives and head of the Absher Ya Iraq Alliance Parliamentary Bloc, visited the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad to review its academic and professional activities. He was received by Professor Dr. Ammar Taher Mohammed, Dean of the College.
During the meeting, the Dean highlighted the College’s academic and professional activities and its achievements in education, scientific research, and media training. He also outlined the College’s role in preparing media professionals equipped to keep pace with the rapid changes taking place in the media and communications sector.
Al-Hasnawi praised what he described as the College’s scientific and professional standing, emphasizing its role in educating and developing media professionals and promoting professional practice based on knowledge and responsibility. He also highlighted its contribution to providing media institutions with specialized graduates.
Al-Hasnawi commended the College’s academic and scientific achievements and expressed his support for its ongoing development and future aspirations. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening communication and cooperation in ways that contribute to advancing media education and supporting academic institutions that serve society and the state.
For his part, Professor Dr. Ammar Taher Mohammed, Dean of the College of Mass Communication, welcomed the visit and expressed his appreciation for Al-Hasnawi’s interest in and support for the College. He affirmed that the College is continuing to develop its academic programs and strengthen its educational and professional environment in line with the requirements of modern media and rapid digital transformation.
The visit underscores the importance of communication between the legislative and academic institutions and of strengthening partnerships to support higher education and develop media disciplines, contributing to the preparation of a generation of media professionals equipped with knowledge, skills, and professional responsibility.
The College of Mass Communication’s efforts to advance media education and training and empower students and researchers align with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education and Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
