The Tomorrow Makers volunteer team at the Public Relations Department of the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, organized a humanitarian campaign titled “School Bag” to distribute schoolbags and stationery to 50 orphaned children. The initiative reflects the values of social solidarity and humanitarian responsibility while supporting children and encouraging them to continue their education.

The campaign was supervised by Professor Irada Zaidan Al-Jubouri and forms part of the humanitarian and community service initiatives supported by the college’s deanship. These efforts aim to promote volunteerism among students and reinforce the role of academic institutions in serving society beyond university education by addressing community needs and fostering solidarity.

The initiative highlighted the importance of supporting orphaned children and providing them with the resources they need to continue their education. A schoolbag represents more than just an educational necessity; it is a message of care and support, offering children a sense of confidence and hope and helping them begin the school year under better circumstances.

The campaign reflects the role of volunteer teams at the College of Mass Communication in turning humanitarian initiatives into meaningful action on the ground. These efforts promote a culture of giving and teamwork and strengthen the university’s role as an educational institution committed to serving society.

The campaign aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, by supporting children and encouraging them to continue their studies, and Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, by promoting social solidarity and providing support to the most vulnerable members of society.
