In the College of Media at the University of Baghdad, the competitive exams for students applying to postgraduate studies for the academic year 2023-2024 were conducted today, Tuesday. The exams included the professional diploma, master’s, and doctoral programs. Approximately 438 students participated in the competitive exams, with 147 students in journalism, 143 students in radio and television, 101 students in public relations, and 47 students in the diploma program.
Over the past few days, the College of Media has prepared the examination halls, equipped electrical generators, conducted comprehensive inspections of the central air conditioning systems, and provided a sufficient supply of water bottles. These preparations were carried out in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the presidency of the University of Baghdad.
Dr. Ammar Tahir, the Dean of the College of Media, expressed that the college was keen on providing suitable environments and necessary facilities for conducting the competitive exams and interviews, in line with the requirements of the University of Baghdad, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the rigorous scientific standards. He stated that the college has begun subjecting the applicants to the written competitive exams with the aim of accepting the best candidates for postgraduate studies in the academic year 2023-2024. He affirmed their commitment to the official timelines set by the ministry to complete the admission process for postgraduate studies. He also expressed his pride in the dedication of the faculty members and staff of the college in creating a suitable academic environment and providing the necessary support to the students during the competitive exams.
It is expected that the results of the competitive exams will be announced later today through the official website and social media pages affiliated with the college, after the examination committees have collected and organized the grades.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has scheduled September 10, 2023, as the date for the commencement of studies for the accepted students in the postgraduate programs for the academic year 2023-2024.
