The Dean of the College of Mass Communication, Professor Dr. Ammar Taher, honored Radio and Television Department student Ahmed Shamsi (fourth stage) in recognition of his outstanding representation of the University of Baghdad after winning third place in the Arabic classical poetry and master of ceremonies competition, organized by the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

During the ceremony, Dr. Taher praised Shamsi’s creative performance in the competition, which witnessed strong participation from 47 public and private universities, affirming that this achievement reflects the college’s key role in refining students’ linguistic and literary talents and supporting young voices skilled in eloquence and public speaking.

He added that the accomplishment reflects the solid academic environment provided by the college, commending the continued support of the President of the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Alaa Abdul Hassan Atiyah, and the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq, for their role in strengthening student participation in major national events.

The recognition aligns with the college’s vision and the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) through supporting extracurricular activities that foster creativity, and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by enhancing cultural cooperation between academic institutions, contributing to the development of a knowledgeable and culturally aware generation prepared to shape the future of media and literature in Iraq.
