The Dean of the College of Media, Dr. Amar Tahir, affirmed today, Thursday, that Baghdad University’s ranking at 40 in the Times ranking of Arab universities reflects the serious and continuous efforts exerted by the university to enhance academic and research performance. Dr. Tahir stated, “We are proud of our university’s excellence and distinction in this prestigious ranking, which confirms the hard work of our professors and students who strive for innovation and development.” He emphasized the importance of “this achievement in elevating the university’s status regionally and globally.” The Dean of Media added, “This ranking is an achievement that encourages Baghdad University’s entities to further serious work and continuous development in various academic and research fields,” considering it “a significant step towards building better education and a bright future for Baghdad University.” The Times ranking released the results of its special edition for Arab universities for the year 2023, evaluating two hundred and seven educational institutions from fifteen countries. Twenty-nine Iraqi government universities, as well as several private universities, achieved significant competitive ranks in the Times ranking of Arab universities for the first time. The competing universities are evaluated based on twenty performance indicators within five main axes: teaching (31%), research environment (31%), research quality (24%), international outlook (8%), and community (6%).
