The College of Mass Media at the University of Baghdad hosted the technical meeting for the Iraqi Universities Open Football Championship, which will be held at the University of Baghdad’s sports fields, with the participation of 62 Iraqi universities from various provinces.
The meeting, attended by representatives of the participating universities, discussed the technical and organizational aspects of the tournament, including the draw procedures and the match schedule, to ensure the success of the competitions and present them at a standard that reflects positively on the image of Iraqi universities.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the organizing committee presented the championship shield to the Dean of the College of Mass Media, Professor Dr. Ammar Taher Mohammed, in recognition of his continuous support for student and sports activities, and his commitment to hosting such university events that foster a spirit of competition and creativity among students.
The participants in the meeting emphasized that hosting this championship represents an opportunity to strengthen the values of cooperation and national belonging among university students, as well as to promote sports awareness as an integral part of comprehensive youth development.
Hosting this meeting also reflects the College of Mass Media’s commitment to supporting student activities and developing young people’s abilities, contributing to the creation of a well-rounded university environment that integrates academic, physical, and cultural aspects.
This event aligns with Sustainable Development third Goal (Good Health and Well-being), which emphasizes the importance of promoting sports and health activities among young people, and fourth Goal (Quality Education), which supports the development of a well-rounded university generation equipped with awareness, knowledge, creativity, and a spirit of competitiveness.
