The College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, hosted the Information Bank Competition, launched for the first time this year as part of the student cultural activities programs, with participation from several university colleges.
The competition matches were conducted in a group format across two locations: Al-Jadriya Complex hosted matches on Sunday and Monday, while Bab Al-Muadham hosted matches for other groups on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The first group witnessed intense competition between teams from the College of Mass Communication, the College of Science, the College of Engineering, and the College of Science for Women. The opening match between the College of Mass Communication and the College of Science for Women resulted in a victory for the College of Mass Communication, while the second match between the College of Science and the College of Engineering ended with a win for the College of Science.
The competition is expected to continue the following day, with the remaining group matches between the College of Engineering and other colleges. The College of Mass Communication team is set to compete in the final match at Al-Jadriya Complex.
The judging panel included distinguished faculty members from the Student Activities Department at the University Presidency, alongside professors from several colleges. Dr. Rawya participated as part of the judging panel for the Bab Al-Muadham matches on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The event was attended by the Dean of the College of Mass Communication, Prof. Dr. Ammar Taher Mohammed, along with Dr. Ali Sadiq, Director of the Student Activities Department, and a wide participation of student activities faculty, underscoring the University’s commitment to supporting cultural activities and fostering a spirit of intellectual competition among students.
