The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, organized a training workshop entitled “Negotiation Skills,” delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Inam Abdul Redha, with the participation of a number of faculty members and students.
The workshop addressed the fundamental concepts of negotiation and its significance in professional and institutional contexts. It focused on effective communication skills, dialogue management, trust-building, and positive influence on the other party, in addition to reviewing key strategies and modern approaches to successful negotiation.
The lecturer also discussed the types and stages of negotiation, as well as the most common mistakes that may hinder the achievement of satisfactory outcomes. She emphasized the role of constructive negotiation in resolving conflicts and achieving mutual interests within various work environments, particularly in media institutions.
The workshop witnessed active engagement from participants through questions and discussions, reflecting their interest in developing their personal and professional skills and enhancing their ability to manage negotiation situations efficiently and professionally.
This workshop comes as part of the Continuing Education Unit’s ongoing efforts to develop the practical skills of students and faculty members, in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), by providing continuous learning and training opportunities that contribute to capacity building and enhance employability in the labor market.
