The College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad inaugurated its university radio station on frequency 105.7 FM following rehabilitation and modernization works, in the presence of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Suhail Najm Abdullah, Dean of the College Prof. Ammar Taher Mohammed, along with faculty members and students.

The reopening comes as part of the college’s efforts to modernize its educational and training facilities and provide an integrated practical environment that enables students to develop broadcasting skills in line with the rapid developments in the media field.

During the inauguration ceremony, the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs stressed the importance of supporting practical projects within colleges, noting that the rehabilitation of the station represents a significant step toward linking academic education with professional training and preparing students with advanced media skills.

For his part, Dean of the College Prof. Ammar Taher Mohammed stated that reopening the station after rehabilitation marks a qualitative step in the college’s development, emphasizing that the radio station will serve as an active platform for students’ voices and a practical space for enhancing their abilities in radio production and presentation.

The ceremony included a tour inside the newly upgraded studio equipped with modern technologies, followed by the launch of broadcasting programs prepared by students, reflecting the level of training and qualification provided by the college.

Through this initiative, the College of Mass Communication seeks to strengthen its academic and practical presence and prepare media professionals capable of competing in the local and international labor market.
