The Dean of the College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad, Professor Dr Ammar Taher Mohammed, met with the college’s Assistant Lecturers in a meeting that highlighted their key role in advancing academic development and improving the quality of teaching and research.
The Dean described Assistant Lecturers as a young and active academic force with a major responsibility in shaping the college’s future, noting their energy, fresh ideas and ability to keep pace with rapid developments in media and communication.
He stressed the need to strengthen research efforts, develop teaching skills, and actively participate in academic activities and training programmes, in line with the university’s efforts to achieve institutional accreditation and improve its academic rankings.
He also called for a stronger team spirit, initiative and a sense of responsibility, urging the Assistant Lecturers to contribute to supporting students academically and professionally. He affirmed that developing young academic talent remains a strategic priority for the college and that the administration is committed to providing an academic environment that supports creativity and excellence.
The meeting also featured an open discussion, during which the Dean listened to the participants’ suggestions and views, praising their engagement and commitment to improving the college’s performance. He stressed that the next stage requires collective efforts and strong institutional cooperation to further strengthen the College of Mass Communication’s standing and leadership both nationally and internationally.
