The College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, has achieved a significant academic accomplishment by ranking first in Iraq’s national ranking of media colleges and departments for the third consecutive year. The College ranked clearly ahead of its counterparts at both public and private institutions, reaffirming its leading position and academic and institutional excellence.
The ranking results highlighted the outstanding performance of the College’s departments. The Department of Digital Journalism achieved a score of 79%, while the Department of Radio and Television ranked first with a score of 76.5%. These results reflect the College’s academic performance, curriculum quality, faculty competence, and advanced educational and training infrastructure.
This achievement is the result of a clear strategy adopted by the College in recent years, focusing on updating academic programs, strengthening practical training, and embracing contemporary media practices in line with labor market requirements and the digital transformation of the media industry.
Commenting on the achievement, Dean of the College of Mass Communication, Professor Dr. Ammar Taher Mohammed, praised the accomplishment, emphasizing that “this excellence did not come by chance, but is the result of collective effort and continuous academic planning.” He noted that “the next phase will involve greater efforts and intensified development programs to maintain the College’s leading position and enhance the quality of its academic outcomes.”
This achievement marks another milestone in the academic journey of the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, and reinforces its pivotal role in preparing qualified media professionals capable of making an effective contribution to the Iraqi media landscape and translating quality and academic accreditation standards into tangible outcomes.
