The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Mass Communication, University of Baghdad, organized a training course titled “Empowering Staff to Write Research and Participate in Scientific Conferences,” as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen academic capabilities and develop research skills among its staff.
The course was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Jassim Tareesh Al-Aqabi, who addressed the scientific foundations of writing rigorous research, methods for selecting research topics, and the steps for preparing studies in accordance with established academic standards. He also discussed procedures for submitting papers and participating effectively in local and international scientific conferences.
The course included practical sessions focusing on research methodology, formulating research problems, developing hypotheses, selecting research tools, and properly documenting sources according to established citation methods. These topics aim to improve the quality of staff members’ scholarly output and enable them to make a meaningful academic contribution.
The course is part of a series of academic and training activities organized by the College of Mass Communication to support the research environment, improve institutional performance, and enhance staff participation in academic and scientific events in line with the College’s academic vision and educational mission.
