The College of Mass Communication at the University of Baghdad commemorated the martyrdom of Lady Fatima Al-Zahraa on Sunday through a solemn gathering attended by members of the college’s deanship council and undergraduate and graduate students. The event included the recitation of Surat Al-Fatiha in remembrance of the occasion.

The gathering reflected feelings of grief and devotion to the family of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family). It also highlighted Lady Fatima Al-Zahra’s place in Islamic tradition and the values of faith, patience, and generosity embodied in her life.

The event was held as part of the college’s observance of religious occasions that hold significance for Iraqi society, reflecting the university community’s commitment to providing space for expressing its sentiments and commemorating events connected to its religious and cultural heritage.

The event aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, by promoting coexistence, mutual respect, and the preservation of cultural and religious diversity, contributing to a university environment grounded in tolerance and understanding.
