The College of Media organized a distinctive lecture, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Raya Qahtan, a faculty member in the Public Relations department. The lecture revolved around the topic of “The Portrayal of the Family in Dubbed Turkish TV Series: An Analytical Study,” within the framework of scientific research and analysis.
Dr. Raya Qahtan showcased various Turkish TV series that aired on MBC satellite channel from 2008 to 2013. Among these series were “Days Gone By,” “Fame,” “Aliya,” “Forbidding Love,” and “Eternal Love.”
According to the researcher, these series focused on social relationships within the family, including parental and marital relationships, and how they depicted various human emotions such as fear, anxiety, hesitation, and hatred.
The lecture shed light on the importance of television drama in shaping the image of the family and social relationships, and how these series can reflect different aspects of family life. The researcher arrived at significant findings during her analysis of these artistic works, revealing that family relationships had a triangular nature and were embodied through the experiences of the main characters in these series.
This lecture reflects the College of Media’s dedication to promoting research and analysis in the field of media and highlighting important social issues that impact people’s lives in society.
