The College of Media at the University of Baghdad has launched a series of volunteer campaigns to decorate the corridors of the college with shade plants, with the participation of faculty members and staff.

The campaigns aim to achieve sustainable development goals by raising awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and providing a comfortable and beautiful environment within the college campus. Additionally, they seek to promote a culture of caring for green spaces and the surrounding environment and to restore human-nature relationships.

The first volunteer campaign was executed on February 13, 2024, where the corridors of the college were adorned with shade plants to enhance the overall environment and make it a more attractive and comfortable place for students and faculty members.

On February 14, 2024, the campaign titled “The College is Our Second Home… Let’s Take Care of It” was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Birq Hussein Jumaa, with the participation of faculty members and staff. The entrance of the college’s deanery was decorated with shade plants.

In the third campaign, faculty members and a group of staff in the Journalism Department adorned the corridors of the department with shade plants, adding a special aesthetic appeal to the area.

These campaigns align with Goal 15 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which focuses on “protecting terrestrial ecosystems and restoring human-nature relationships,” reflecting the college’s commitment to achieving sustainable development and environmental responsibility.
